Well, according to David tie rod end is understood,For many years, few brands have maintained building a vehicle whose primary function is driving off the beaten path as much as Jeep, and in a lot of cases, this move comes with good reason. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, pictured here with humble roots that dates back to World War II, has been a mainstay for off road enthusiasts wanting trail-ready capability right off the showroom floor, and continues to be the go-to for tough-guys and adventure seekers across the country.
My first meeting with the modern Wrangler about two years ago at the Elegushi beach resort located at Lekki, Lagos left me impressed with its confidence-inspiring trail handling and mildly assuring at its on-road capability.
Inside, Wrangler’s interior seat fabrics and comfort-designed seats stand up to all kinds of sitting down. With plenty of cushion and support, you have got more stamina to keep on going. Convenient interior courtesy lights illuminate the front footwells and cup holders.
Jeep may have gone slightly off the rails when they penned the upcoming 2014 Cherokee, but their designers have been much more timid when it comes to any kind of exterior changes to the Wrangler.
Engine delivers the power to match Wrangler’s legendary brawn. Boasting 284horsepower with 347Nm of torque, this efficient road master is cast from lightweight aluminum and sips regular octane gas. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) makes driving over rough terrain in 4WD-low model that much smoother.
On the other hand, the electronic stability control (ESC) is designed to assist drivers in maintaining control of their vehicle at all times. It utilizes hydraulic brake assist, traction control, electronic roll mitigation (ERM) and trailer sway control (TSC) to constantly monitor driver input against the vehicle’s actual course.
The iconic design elements of today’s Wrangler were born during the great pursuit of freedom, when hinges and latches helped keep the original Jeep Willys running strong. These features have been incorporated in every Wrangler ever since.
Well, according to David tie rod end note,,The 2014 edition moves forward, incorporating state-of-the-art technology and modern creature comforts with this time-honoured heritage. But still when Wrangler freedom-drivers head out to parts unknown, with the top off, doors removed and windshield folded down, the grab bars are trusted to help make the ride as iconic as ever.
For the 5-speed automatic transmission with autostick, the off-roader can gain exceptional efficiency and out-of-the-gate performance. An aggressive first-gear ratio offers ample launch power without compromising efficiency. Electronically-controlled engine torque helps you move smoothly through every gear. The autostick feature offers driver-selectable control to manually change gears.
A treasure chest of hard-core gear awaits in the Rubicon X. Core components include a super-tough Rock-Trac HD transfer case with an NV241OR transfer case and 4:1 low gear ratio, brake lock differentials, Tru-Lok electronic locking differentials, electronic front sway bar disconnect, Dana 44 solid front/rear axles and standard 4.10 rear axle ratio (standard with manual/optional with auto). Adding to the mix are dual red tow hooks (both front and rear), premium rock rails and a rear bumper that is capable of accommodating a spare tyre carrier.
Reputed for its rock-solid underpinnings, Wrangler is built with a body-on-frame design that is fully boxed for strength, stiffness and durability. Stamped steel skid plates for the fuel tank and transfer case help protect Wrangler’s belly when battling boulders. Extra-tough body-on-mounted rails provide additional protection on Wrangler Rubicon.
As a stabilizing force, front and rear wheel electronic-locking differentials balance speed between left and right wheels, maintaining forward momentum for the ultimate in traction. An instrument panel-mounted rocker switch can lock either the rear or both axles. (Standard only on Rubicon).
Well, according to David tie rod end is understood,With Rubicon, the heavy-duty suspension features solid axles with locating arms, coil springs, track/stabilizer bars, front steering damper and tunable monotube shock absorbers that are firm at low speeds and more relaxed at high speeds. It features a steering linkage and a re-circulating-ball steering gear. It’s robust, cross-link geometry helps provide one of the stiffest possible linkage systems in a solid-axle platform for steering precision
For 2014, Wrangler Rubicon is ready for the challenge with 203mm ground clearance, built with a frame that is fully boxed for strength, stiffness and durability. All Jeep model range is imported into Nigeria by Weststar Associates Limited.
